I am so pleased to have taken the helm at Albie Aware Breast Cancer Foundation during an exciting growth phase. We now can service well over 300 clients a year and, with the continued help of our staff, volunteers, and supporters, we expect to be able to service quite a bit more in the years to come.
The board, clients, medical team, and supporters have been extremely welcoming to me during this time of learning and assuming the lead. I especially want to thank Carrie Yoshida for stepping in to run the organization, continuing our mission, and making this transition a smooth one.
Breast Cancer is an issue that is close to my heart. I have a passion for this issue, as it has affected me through both family and friends. I know first-hand how traumatic a diagnosis of breast cancer can be for everyone involved. Therefore, I am looking forward to expanding upon the wonderful reputation and work of Albie Aware through the continued growth of our programs and offerings. This will include increasing our reach to those in need and streamlining our technology platforms, making them more flexible and accessible, in order to better service our clients.
We look forward to sharing the program’s continued success with you in our quarterly newsletter. In the meantime, if you would like to schedule a visit to see firsthand what Albie Aware is doing and how you can get involved, feel free to call or email me.
Warmly,
Amanda Nelson
