Albie Aware is proud to count the Sacramento Republic Football Club as a sponsor and partner in the fight against breast cancer.
During October – Breast Cancer Month – The team announced its new affiliation with Major League Soccer and doubled down on its support for Albie Aware at these events:
- “Paint in the Pink” night on October 2, 2019 at Papa Murphy’s Park helped raise awareness of breast cancer as an opponent that can be beaten. Breast cancer survivors received free admission and participated by holding the club’s flag during the National Anthem and being acknowledged on the field at halftime.
- Top Golf Night was a night to celebrate and strengthen the club’s partnerships, which includes Albie Aware.
- INDOMITABLE BLOCK PARTY. A block party was held downtown Sacramento on October 25th to announce the club’s selection as Major League Soccer 29th team starting in 2022. Parts of Capital Mall and 5th Street were closed in celebration of Sacramento’s newest professional sports franchise. There were food trucks, free entertainment, and speeches by MLS Commissioner Don Garber and Mayor Darrell Steinberg. Governor Gavin Newsom also attended.
The Sacramento Republic, established in 2012, currently plays their matches at Papa Murphy’s Park and has plans to build a new stadium downtown. Albie Aware is thrilled to have the club as a committed partner, strengthening its mission to help local women and men as they face a diagnosis of breast cancer.
