She Wouldn’t Take “No” For An Answer

Jamie could feel a lump growing. After being referred for a mammogram, she was told that at 32 she was too young for one and was sent home. Deciding not to take “No” for an answer, she called Albie Aware.

Our team quickly scheduled a diagnostic mammogram, ultrasound and finally a biopsy.  Not long after, she and her family received the news that she already knew in her heart – she had breast cancer.

We were there to answer her questions, offer resources and support, and also help Jamie advocate with her insurance company to get the next steps underway. Prior to her first chemo appointment, Jamie left our office, arms filled with “comfort” items including pink ribbon scarves, Albie T-shirts and a wig she totally rocked.

Jamie wouldn’t take “No” for an answer, and because of that, this mother of 4 gets a chance to fight, to survive…to live.

Women like Jamie are inspiring. And I get to meet women like her at the Albie Aware offices every week! This Holiday Season, will you please help me and the Albie Aware team continue supporting all of these inspiring women who I call friends?  Any amount helps!”

Paws up!
